2018 Overseas trip to Australia and New Zealand

Walker College Foundation has scheduled the 2018 trip to Australia and New Zealand for October 6-23, 2018. The 15-day trip begins in Melbourne and ends in Auckland, New Zealand. Tours are included in each city with plenty of free time to explore on your own or book an optional excursion.

Journey from the Land Down Under to the Land of the Long White Cloud, taking in breathtaking natural wonders and iconic architecture as you go. From Australia’s vast Great Barrier Reef to New Zealand’s majestic peaks and sparkling lakes, there’s so much to marvel at in this far-away part of the world. The tour includes stops at attractions in every city you visit including Melbourne, Cairns, Sydney, Queenstown, and Auckland. See famous highlights like the Great Barrior Reef, Sydney Opera House, Bob’s Peak, Fiordland, National Park, and Auckland’s Sky Tower. There is even an optional extension to Fiji if you want to add three days to your trip.

The base cost of the trip is approximately $6,400 per person for double occupancy. Optional daily excursions are extra and an optional three-day extension to Fiji is an additional $799. The base price includes airfare out of Birmingham, 12 nights in handpicked hotels, breakfast daily, one lunch, four (4) three-course dinners with beer or wine, one wine tasting, a group tour director, private deluxe motor coach, and guided sightseeing and select entrance fees. The itinerary for the trip includes: Day 1 & 2: Flight to Melbourne. Day 3: Arrive in Melbourne, meet tour director and have dinner. Day 4: Sightseeing tour of Melbourne including Carlton Gardens, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and Queen Victoria Market. Day 5: Fly to Cairns and have a free afternoon to explore. Day 6: Visit the Great Barrier Reef. Day 7: Fly to Sydney and have a free afternoon to explore. Day 8: Sightseeing our of Sydney including Darling Harbour, Sydney Harbour Bridge, and Sydney Opera House. Day 9: Free day in Sydney. Day 10: Fly to Queenstown, New Zealand and take the Skyline Queenstown Gondola to Bob’s Peak. Day 11: Sightseeing tour of Queenstown including Arrowton and Gibbston Valley Winery. Day 12: Tour Fiordland National Park, Five Rivers region, Homer Saddle, and Milford Sound. Day 13: Fly to Auckland and tour the city including Sky Tower and Auckland Harbor Bridge. Day 14: Free day in Auckland. Day 15: Departure for home or choose the extension to explore Fiji for two more days.
